What is Ewan McGregor's singing voice type (voice classification)?

I was watching Moulin Rouge! the other day and was enchanted by his beautiful voice. I think he is probably a tenor or baritone... too high to be considered a bass. I have researched online and have found different sources... some say baritone others tenor. So, any official word on this?
