Getting married dilemma! Please help.?

My Fiance wants to run away and do it. I want my mother there. My dad left when I was little and I don't have any siblings. I'd like a big wedding with all my family there but I am compromising by just saying I want my mom there but he doesn't want that as he says it will snowball out of control. Help! advice if anyone has any. x
