What do I need to do to begin receiving BAH payments from the Army?

When I got married we had to have a lease. You can make up a lease agreement between yourself and your parents. I had a friend that stayed with me, since I owned my house I went to JAG and they gave me a standard lease that we had them notarize. This helped my friend start her BAH, since she was staying with me it was totally legal and legit. Use JAG its free. Even if its temporary. Then when you start collecting BAH you can go out and get an apartment and enter into a new lease that is more permanent. Its a catch 22 you need BAH to get an apartment but you cant get an apartment without BAH.
