Saxophone and braces?

I want to start to learn to play the saxophone, but I'm getting braces in a week. So is that going to affect my playing?or hurt my lips? And should I just wait a month or two after o have my braces on befor I start playing th saxophone? And If you know how hard the sax is to play that would be nice to know. And if I should play alto or tenor :) thx
